1980 Los Angeles Rams - Bud Carson
Bud Carson was a football defensive coordinator in the National Football League (NFL) for over 30 years. He is best known for his work with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he helped the team win four Super Bowls (1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979).
Carson was born in Freeport, Pennsylvania, in 1930. He played college football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a two-time All-American. After college, Carson played professional football for the Los Angeles Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After his playing career, Carson began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Pittsburgh. He then moved on to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he served as the defensive backs coach from 1972 to 1973. He was promoted to defensive coordinator in 1974.
