1984 New York Giants - Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick is a football coach who is the current head coach of the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, having won six Super Bowls (tied with Chuck Noll for the most by a head coach) as head coach of the Patriots, more than any other head coach in NFL history. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants from 1983 to 1990.

Belichick was born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1952. He played football at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, where he was a two-time All-American. After college, Belichick worked as a scouting assistant for the Baltimore Colts and the Detroit Lions.

Belichick was hired as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 1983. He held that position for seven seasons, during which time the Giants won two Super Bowls. In 1991, Belichick was hired as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He led the Browns to three consecutive playoff appearances, but was fired after the 1995 season.

Bill Belichick remained with the Giants until 1990. He then became the head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 1991 to 1995. He also served as the head coach of the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2019.

Bill Belichick ran a 3-4 defense with the 1984 New York Giants. The 3-4 defense is a base defense that uses three defensive linemen and four linebackers. The linemen are responsible for stopping the run and pressuring the quarterback. The linebackers are responsible for covering the pass and making tackles.
