Guided by an explosive offense averaging 41.7 points per game and a staunch defense allowing a mere 14.6 points per game, the team etched its place in the annals of school history.

Headed by the adept offensive coordinator Greg Greisen, in his second season with Northwest Missouri State following a stint at Washburn University, the team demonstrated a knack for innovative offensive schemes, particularly the utilization of the pass-centric spread offense complemented by diverse formations and personnel groupings.
