The 1991 Eastern Kentucky Colonels football team was an American football team that represented Eastern Kentucky University as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) during the 1991 NCAA Division I-AA football season. In their second season under head coach Roy Kidd, the Colonels compiled a record of 8–3, won the OVC championship, and advanced to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The offensive coordinator for the 1991 Eastern Kentucky Colonels was Bill Curry. He was in his first season as the offensive coordinator, and he helped to lead the Colonels to a record of 8-3.

Curry was a former quarterback at the University of Kentucky, where he played under head coach Fran Curci. After graduating from Kentucky, Curry played in the NFL for the Houston Oilers, the Green Bay Packers, and the Los Angeles Rams.

Bill Curry implemented a spread offense at Eastern Kentucky in 1991. The spread offense is a type of pass-oriented offense that emphasizes quick throws, short passes, and big plays. The spread offense is designed to spread the defense out and create mismatches in favor of the offense.
