The 1995 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks football team had a remarkable season, finishing with a 9-3 record and clinching the prestigious Big Sky Conference championship. With an impressive offensive average of 36.7 points per game and a staunch defense allowing only 22.3 points per game, they made a lasting impact in their division.
Under the leadership of quarterback Jeff Pyne, the Lumberjacks' offense thrived, tallying 2,545 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. Pyne's dual-threat capabilities shone through as he also contributed 400 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Additionally, the team boasted a robust running game spearheaded by the exceptional Mark Collins, who accrued 1,232 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.
Linebacker Mike Haynes played a pivotal role in the Lumberjacks' defense, registering an impressive 116 tackles and 10 sacks, earning him the honor of a first-team All-Big Sky Conference selection in 1995.
