Clemson Tigers Defense (1999)

The 1999 Clemson Tigers were a college football team that represented Clemson University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I-A Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) during the 1999 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Tigers were led by head coach Tommy Bowden, who was in his first season with the team.

The defensive coordinator for the 1999 Clemson Tigers was Reggie Herring. Herring was in his first season as the Tigers' defensive coordinator, and he helped the team to one of the best defensive seasons in program history.

The Tigers' defense ranked first in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in scoring defense, allowing just 16.5 points per game. They also ranked first in the ACC in total defense, allowing just 354.5 yards per game.

The defense used on the 1999 Clemson Tigers was a 4-3 defense. The Tigers' defense was known for its aggressive style of play and its ability to create turnovers.

The Tigers' 4-3 defense was led by linebacker Keith Adams, who was one of the best linebackers in the country. Adams was a versatile linebacker who was able to play all three linebacker positions. He was also a good leader, and he was able to get the most out of his teammates.
