The coach of the 2003 Kentucky Wildcats football team was Rich Brooks.
Rich Brooks is a retired American football coach who has worked at both the college and professional levels. He was the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats football team from 2003 to 2009. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for several NFL teams, including the St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons, and San Francisco 49ers. He also served as the head coach of the Oregon Ducks from 1977 to 1994, leading the team to six bowl game appearances during his tenure.
In addition to his coaching career, Brooks played college football at Oregon State University and was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 1960 NFL Draft. He played for the Rams for two seasons before injuries forced him to retire.
In 2003, Rich Brooks was in his first season as the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats football team. The team struggled that year, finishing with a record of 4-8 overall and 1-7 in SEC play. Despite the disappointing season, there were some bright spots, including a victory over rival Louisville and a close game against highly-ranked Georgia. The team also had a number of talented players, including quarterback Jared Lorenzen and running back Artose Pinner.
