Kliff Kingsbury became the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 2019. In his first season, he led the team to a record of 5-10-1, which was a slight improvement from the previous season. One of the notable changes he brought to the team was his innovative offense system that emphasized on a fast-paced and aggressive passing attack. This system, known as the "Air Raid" offense, was the hallmark of Kingsbury's previous coaching success at Texas Tech University. In 2019, Kliff Kingsbury implemented an offensive system for the Arizona Cardinals that was heavily influenced by the Air Raid offense. This system relied on spreading out the defense and utilizing quick, short passes to move the ball down the field. It also placed a heavy emphasis on the quarterback making quick decisions and getting the ball out of his hands as soon as possible. Kingsbury also incorporated several spread concepts and utilized a lot of pre-snap motion to confuse the defense and create mismatches. Additionally, the Cardinals used a lot of four-wide receiver sets and ran the ball less frequently than many other teams, preferring to rely on the passing game to generate yardage.
