Chris Klieman is a football coach who currently serves as the head coach for the Kansas State Wildcats football team. He was born on September 28, 1967, in Waterloo, Iowa, and attended Northern Iowa University, where he played defensive back on the football team.
Klieman began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Northern Iowa, in 1989. He then moved on to coach at a number of other universities, including Loras College, Western Illinois University, and North Dakota State University (NDSU). Klieman had great success as the head coach at NDSU, where he won four FCS national championships in five seasons from 2014-2018.
In 2019, Klieman was hired as the head coach of the Kansas State Wildcats football team. In his first season, he led the team to an 8-5 record and a victory over the Navy Midshipmen in the Liberty Bowl.
