Hawaii Warriors Flexbone Offense (1995) - Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson was the offensive coordinator for the 1995 Hawaii Warriors football team. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 4-8, but Johnson was able to get the most out of his players.
The 1995 Hawaii Warriors football team was a young and inexperienced team that was trying to rebuild under the leadership of first-year head coach Bob Wagner. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 4-8, but they showed some flashes of promise, especially on offense.
The Warriors' offense was led by quarterback Shawn Jones, who was a dual-threat quarterback who could both run and pass the ball. Jones threw for over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns in 1995, and he also rushed for over 400 yards.
The flexbone offense is a triple-option offense that was developed by Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry in the 1980s. The offense is designed to give the ball carrier three options: to run the ball himself, to hand the ball off to another running back, or to pitch the ball to a quarterback who is running a sweep.
