1996 Detroit Lions - Jim Eddy

Jim Eddy was a football coach who had a long and varied career in the NFL. He served as a head coach for the Detroit Lions and the Cincinnati Bengals. He also served as a defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, and the New York Giants.

Eddy was born in Checotah, Oklahoma, in 1936. He played college football at Oklahoma State University, where he was a two-time All-Big Eight selection. After college, Eddy played briefly in the NFL for the Detroit Lions.

Jim Eddy was the defensive coordinator for the 1996 Detroit Lions. He helped the Lions to a NFC Central division title and a berth in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Lions' blitzes were a key part of their defense in 1996. They used them to great effect, and it helped them to win the NFC Central division title. However, they lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional Round.

Jim Eddy ran a 4-3 defense with the 1996 Detroit Lions. The 4-3 defense is a variation of the 3-4 defense that is known for its aggressiveness and its ability to pressure the quarterback.
