The 1985 Los Angeles Rams were one of the most exciting and innovative teams in NFL history. They were led by head coach John Robinson and offensive coordinator Ernie Zampese, who installed the Air Coryell offense, which emphasized quick passes, vertical routes, and misdirection.

The Rams' offense was one of the best in the NFL in 1985, ranking first in passing yards and second in total yards. The offense was led by quarterback Jim Everett, who threw for 4,010 yards and 30 touchdowns. Running back Eric Dickerson rushed for 2,105 yards and 14 touchdowns. Wide receiver Henry Ellard caught 102 passes for 1,745 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The Rams' defense was also solid, ranking sixth in the NFL in scoring defense. The defense was led by linebacker Kevin Greene, who had 16.5 sacks. Defensive back Nolan Cromwell had 7 interceptions.

Ernie Zampese was the offensive coordinator of the 1985 Los Angeles Rams. He was in his first season with the Rams, and he helped to transform the team's offense into one of the most dynamic and explosive offenses in the NFL.

Zampese was a disciple of the "Air Coryell" offense, which was developed by San Diego Chargers head coach Don Coryell in the 1970s. The Air Coryell offense emphasized quick passes, vertical routes, and misdirection.
