The 1996 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team was an American football team that represented Louisiana Tech University as an independent during the 1996 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their first year under head coach Gary Crowton, the team compiled an 6–5 record.

The Bulldogs' offense was one of the best in the nation in 1996, ranking 14th in passing yards. The offense was led by quarterback Tim Rattay, who threw for 3,657 yards and 24 touchdowns. Running back Ryan Moats rushed for 1,149 yards and 10 touchdowns. Wide receiver Troy Edwards caught 74 passes for 1,007 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Gary Crowton was the head coach of the 1996 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team. It was his first season as head coach at Louisiana Tech, and he led the team to a record of 6-5.
