Fritz Crisler was the head coach of the 1947 Michigan Wolverines football team. It was his tenth season as head coach at Michigan, and he led the Wolverines to a perfect 10-0 record, won the Big Ten Conference championship, and defeated the USC Trojans by a score of 49-0 in the 1948 Rose Bowl Game.

Crisler was a pioneer in the development of modern college football. He was one of the first coaches to use the two-platoon system, which separates offensive and defensive players. He was also one of the first coaches to use film to study opponents and develop game plans.
