Richie Petitbon was an American football coach who served as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL). He was born in 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and played college football at the University of Arkansas.

Petitbon began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Arkansas from 1966 to 1968. He then moved on to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he served as an assistant coach from 1969 to 1985.

In 1986, Petitbon was hired as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins. He remained in that position for three seasons, helping the Redskins win Super Bowl XXII in 1987.

In 1989, Petitbon was hired as the head coach of the Redskins. He served in that position for four seasons, but he was fired after the 1993 season.
