One of the best ways to keep a defense on their toes is to force them to move before the ball is snapped with different motions.
This is something that the Mercer Bears are very good at.

This play is a simple downhill run that takes advantage of all of the sideways motion that the Bears have been running all game.
The offensive line in this situation allows the play side end to chase the motion, while the rest of the blocking scheme is focused on getting to the second level to create a push up the middle.
On this play, the strong safety comes downhill quickly to adjust to the motion, and the FB is able to replace him running right up the middle for a touchdown!
